Had to be done: Lemon Limerick

...and I won't get into the history of it here -- I'll just tell you all that my El-Jay friend [info]oleander9999 wrote a pr0n fic consisting entirely of haiku verse, and I was....moved, I guess you'd call it?

So, here's a Lemon-y Limerick...

There once was a statesman named John
With a penchant for gettin' it on
After preparing the hole
He inserted his pole
And he thrust till the sexin' was done.

Pairing: Gen
Summary: For everyone's sake, they keep his memory alive.
Word Count: 447
Warnings: Once again, more angst than a healthy diet should contain.
A/N: Again, this date is so important to the family... that being said, this is all fiction, and I'll leave it at that.

Companion piece to "Decade". Written from the Edwards children's POV.

Fic: "Decade"

Title: Decade
Rating: PG
Pairing: Gen
Summary: Seasons change, but not so the past.
Word Count: 2655
Warnings: Angst content through the roof....Think about the date, seriously. Language and depressing situations.
A/N: Some of you realize what April 4 means to the Edwards family and their supporters...

Yeah.

A year and a half ago, I wrote Lunation. I stated at that time that I wished to be sensitive to the Edwards family's feelings, and I would never want to write anything that would hurt them in any way, even while writing about the most private and personal thing in their lives. That being said...

My muses asked this of me, for this day, and would not be denied. Forgive me.

Inspired by Kenny Chesney's "Who You'd Be Today."

Companion piece to Oakwood.

Word Count: 1056

Fic: "Fast Food", a/k/a "Teh Wendy's Fic of DOOOOOOOOOOOM!™"

Title: Fast Food [This fic should have no title. It doesn't deserve one. - Teh Author]
Rating: LOL!!
Pairing: JE/JK
Summary: Speaking of that Wendy's tradition...
Word Count: 282
Warnings: Horrible puns. I'm so ashamed.
A/N: I don't even know where to start... OK - um, [info]oleander9999 made me do it!!

This is quite possibly the silliest thing I have ever written. I have been working 10+ hours a day for the past three days (which explains why my brain is fried), and this is what comes of that.

Don't hate me because I'm sleep-deprived.

N.B. - you may have to read it out loud to catch all the different parts of the double cheeseburger that Johnny so craves. Or not...have it your way!

...Wait, that's Burger King. Never mind. ;-)

Fic: "The Right Call?"

Title: The Right Call?
Rating: G (but not a happy G...)
Pairing: JK/JE
Summary: John makes a phone call.
Word Count: 100 - a perfect drabble! :)
Warnings: None. Huh.
A/N: ...just because I haven't been writing anything for a while, doesn't mean that my writing's gotten any happier, apparently. [info]sarken claimed a drabble from the "drabble meme" - her request was for "Angry JxJ with the use of the word 'down' " - and here's what we got.

Fic: "Separation"

Title: Separation
Rating: PG
Pairing: JK/JE
Summary: 'It wasn't supposed to end like this...'
Word Count: 1722 [not including lyrics]
Warnings: Um... [*thinks*] Song-fic? M/M RPF, implied slash...angst...impending heartache... I think that's the worst of it.
A/N: This is not a happy fic. It's dark and bitter like my soul. =P

Written for [info]sarken, Defiler of the Fandom's Sanctity.™ Bless you, darlin'.

Leave the pity and the blame for the ones who do not speak
You write the words to get respect and compassion, and for posterity
You write the words and make believe there is truth in the space between.

There is fiction in the space between you and everybody
Give us all what we need, give us one more sad sordid story
But in the fiction of the space between, sometimes a lie is the best thing
Sometimes, a lie is the best thing...

Fic: "Saving Grace"

Title: Saving Grace
Series: Fallen
Rating: PG
Pairing: Gen
Summary: "Tell me -- what are you thankful for?"
Word Count: 3763
Warnings: Angst. Small amount of het smooching.
A/N: Written for Thanksgiving 2004, while I was deep in the middle of "Fallen"... A bit of that bled (heh) into this fic, and you could consider this an epilogue to that series, if you wish... as I do. I wanted to convince myself that they got their happy ending. ;)

Original author's notes:
I don't know what these folks are actually doing today, but I'd like to think that they're all gathering at the Kerry household for a big ol' turkey dinner... I tie a bit of AU fiction to RL here. But this is all in my head.

Title: Chicken Soup for His Soul
Rating: G
Pairing: JE/JK
Summary: Friendship is balm for the soul
Word Count: 1013
Warnings: None.
A/N: Okay, this is just a goofy little confection I came up with, after hearing that a) Kerry wasn't feeling well, and b) that the Johns were campaigning together again, however briefly. It's silly, really, but maybe you'll enjoy it.

Title: (untitled LiveStrong fic challenge)
Rating: G
Pairing: JK/JE
Summary: For courage, for remembrance, and for honor.
Word Count: 695
Warnings: None.
A/N: In response to westwinglvr's fic challenge:
Write a story of any length where Big John gives Little John the yellow bracelet... But you cannot use the words...Kerry, Edwards, John, big, little, young, old, or senator.

EDIT: you CAN use all the words except Kerry or Edwards - ok is that easier?? all i really want is for someone to write the story, but i thought that was just too easy haha

It can have sex...or not - up to u...

Wow, this one was difficult.... I got a bit maudlin in my story, sorry... I'm not sure I like it at all. =/

Summary: Caution: slippery when wet.
Word Count: 821
Warnings: Schmoop.
A/N: Stupid fic challenges. *mutter mutter* Guess what?? This one's completely silly!! Goofy as hell, it is.
Write a fic in which either or both of the Johns gets wet. This can come about however you like (hot tub, swimming, rained on, hosed down, or just plain old showering or bathing or whatever else you can think of) and can lead to whatever events you like (Big Evil Grin). It can be any length. Go!

Fic: "Nightblind"

Title: Nightblind
Rating: G
Pairing: implied JK/JE
Summary: It was only a dream.
Word Count: 610
Warnings: Y HALLO THAR ANGST.
A/N: This is a (slightly) modified version of the story I posted for sanferryanne's fic challenge...
The challenge went:
"Anyway, the rules:
Must use the following words: water, past, open, fierce, ring
Can't use: love, lust, sigh, tongue, passion"

Thanks to jkb, again and always, for the useful suggestions. "Aye aye, Editor!"

For some reason, the required words made me immediately think of a dream sequence. *shrug* And because I'm too damned petulant for my own good, this is yet another dark fic. Thank the gods I stubbornly believe in happy endings.

Fic: "Lunation"

Title: Lunation
Rating: G
Pairing: implied JE/JK
Summary: Only love can heal wounds of the heart.
Word Count: 688
Warnings: Sorry, my melancholia is showing.
A/N: I recently finished reading "Four Trials." In this book, John Edwards speaks eloquently about his son Wade, and the effect of Wade's death on his life. His account just gripped me with an iron fist, and this story squeezed out. It begged to be written.

I want to assure everybody here on this list: I love John Edwards. I would never disrespect him or his family. They have suffered incredible pain, and I have tried my damnedest to make this a sensitive, honorable, loving (if fictional and slightly slashy) account.

That said, jkb was kind enough to beta this for me. Thank you for your help.

Summary: Who will defend the defender? A day in the life of a Presidential campaign
Word Count: 763 [without the news item or the eye-witness account]
Warnings: None.

Title: Dreams
Rating: PG
Pairing: JK/JE
Summary: A dream shared is a dream strengthened
Word Count: 778 [not including lyrics]
Warnings: Implied M/M RPS. Song fic (ew!).
A/N: Damn my musical self. This one quotes liberally from "Worlds Apart" by Bruce Springsteen. You should check it out.

I've had a little too much amaretto and Bailey's tonight, so this may not be horribly coherent, nor as well-written as it could be, and I apologize in advance.

Fic: "China"

Title: China
Rating: PG
Pairing: JK/JE
Summary: Her worst fears, made manifest.
Word Count: 1198 [not including lyrics]
Warnings: Mild soft-core pr0n. Song fic. *facepalm*
A/N: This fic was inspired by a song that popped up on my iPod last night. For some reason, I thought of Teresa Kerry...

The song is about a relationship in its twilight. Absolutely heartbreaking to hear it performed, actually... And in my mind, it seemed like something that would fit Teresa, if she discovered their secret love.

I admire Teresa a lot, but I am not 'in her mind' and I think it shows. I cannot write like she speaks, so this fic is probably not as good as it could be. It's a lot different from the "usual" formats of stories, so if you have any ideas on improvements, please post (but gently - I'm one of those shy people that waited to post until she was comfortable...).
