Fic: "Joint Resolutions"

Title: Joint Resolutions
Rating: A perfectly innocent (if slightly slashy) G, for a change!
Pairing: JK/JE
Summary: New Year's Eve, 2005: A night to celebrate.
Word Count: 1056
Warnings: none
A/N: I had to use the industrial strength cattle prod on my muses (thanks for the loan, [info]oleander9999!), but was finally able to goad them into giving me this little ficlet.

Disclaimer: These stories are works of fiction. Any similarity between the fictional version of the persons portrayed herein and the actual persons is intentional -- every fandom has its canon, folks -- HOWEVER, these stories are not attempts to defame the characters of said persons on the basis of libel, as these works are fictional (and NOT intently false statements created with the express purpose of misleading others about the actual characters of said persons). Real people exist with these names, but these are fictionalized characters here, and not the actual persons mentioned. None of this fiction ever happened, except in my mind.

Fic: "Christmas Presence"

Title: Christmas Presence
Rating: G
Pairing: Gen
Summary: Family isn't always genetic.
Word Count: 668
Warnings: None.
A/N: Fictional, but nice to think about.

Yes, I may be a pagan, but I still love Christmas... and here's a little ficlet just for my friends here. It's a quickie, it's not perfect, but it's hand-made with love from Texas to you.

Fic: "Saving Grace"

Title: Saving Grace
Series: Fallen
Rating: PG
Pairing: Gen
Summary: "Tell me -- what are you thankful for?"
Word Count: 3763
Warnings: Angst. Small amount of het smooching.
A/N: Written for Thanksgiving 2004, while I was deep in the middle of "Fallen"... A bit of that bled (heh) into this fic, and you could consider this an epilogue to that series, if you wish... as I do. I wanted to convince myself that they got their happy ending. ;)

Original author's notes:
I don't know what these folks are actually doing today, but I'd like to think that they're all gathering at the Kerry household for a big ol' turkey dinner... I tie a bit of AU fiction to RL here. But this is all in my head.

Fic: "Chicken Soup for His Soul"

Title: Chicken Soup for His Soul
Rating: G
Pairing: JE/JK
Summary: Friendship is balm for the soul
Word Count: 1013
Warnings: None.
A/N: Okay, this is just a goofy little confection I came up with, after hearing that a) Kerry wasn't feeling well, and b) that the Johns were campaigning together again, however briefly. It's silly, really, but maybe you'll enjoy it.

Fic: "Sunrise, Sunset"

Title: Sunrise, Sunset
Rating: G
Pairing: None.
Summary: Who will defend the defender? A day in the life of a Presidential campaign
Word Count: 763 [without the news item or the eye-witness account]
Warnings: None.
A/N: Stole nzraya's trick of including published quotes. Everybody's POVs get equal time here.

This was another song-inspired fic ["Blood Brothers" by Bruce Springsteen] but for once I don't mix my fandoms here. See the lyrics here.

Fic: "China"

Title: China
Rating: PG
Pairing: JK/JE
Summary: Her worst fears, made manifest.
Word Count: 1198 [not including lyrics]
Warnings: Mild soft-core pr0n. Song fic. *facepalm*
A/N: This fic was inspired by a song that popped up on my iPod last night. For some reason, I thought of Teresa Kerry...

The song is about a relationship in its twilight. Absolutely heartbreaking to hear it performed, actually... And in my mind, it seemed like something that would fit Teresa, if she discovered their secret love.

I admire Teresa a lot, but I am not 'in her mind' and I think it shows. I cannot write like she speaks, so this fic is probably not as good as it could be. It's a lot different from the "usual" formats of stories, so if you have any ideas on improvements, please post (but gently - I'm one of those shy people that waited to post until she was comfortable...).
