OK, as I noted on one of my other Flyboy fic recs, I'm not real big on the whole vampire thing...I kind of tolerated the "Lost Boys" and "Buffy" movies, and have pretty much been "meh" about everything else vampire-ry since... But since it's one of my favorite Mavid authors, I'll give it a shake. :)

This fic has David as a vampire hunter, tho (along with nearly the entire cast of popular - and not-so-popular - previous and current Idols to boot!), and that has some seriously interesting angsty potential... :) You'll see what I mean. :(

The individual chapters do not have ratings, but overall the series is an "R" per the author.

The door was guarded, but he knew how to get in. The hall stretched on for miles and each step brought the pounding of music closer and deeper into his ears until he was there and a sudden rush of heat and a bass loud enough to fracture his heart flushed through his skin and he gasped for oxygen.

Michael knew what he wanted and curious but not unwelcome looks were thrown his direction, looks he processed but meant nothing to him. The tiled floor was sticky under his shoes, hands grabbed loosely at his arms, his waist but he let them go, fluttered eyelashes and shoved them away.

Right to the back and the trembling in his hands grew worse and more difficult to handle. He had to be here, he had to. Michael began to panic, lose his breath and no, no this couldn’t be happening, he saw him. Sitting in a booth, one leg up on the bench, finger rubbing up and down a glass dripping of condensation. He was staring at Michael, with white eyes and Michael smiled.

ETA: Okay, I just couldn't let this go without saying this, seriously... This is the most amazing fic I have ever read in any of my fandoms. I cannot believe the way in which the author uses words to such great effect, and the depth of emotion in those words just cut me so deeply... Good Goddess, it's unreal.

Seriously, even if you don't like slash (and there's really not that much actual slash in it, mind you), this fic is absolutely brilliant. It makes me embarrassed to even consider writing in this fandom myself, because anything I might write would absolutely pale in comparison to this fic. I love it THAT MUCH.
