Fic: "Flyboy"

Pairing: Dandy
Summary: Andy is not happy.
Word Count: a true drabble -- 100 words. :)
Notes: heartsfortress made me do it. It's all her fault. Blame her.

Fic: "Turning the Page"

Title: Turning the Page
Series: Hard Lessons
Rating: PG-13
Pairing: Dandy
Summary: "All I can see is him...I want him gone."
Word Count: 2641
Warnings: Rated for language and adult situations.
Disclaimer: Real people exist with these names; but these folks here are fictionalized characters, and not directly intended to represent the actual persons mentioned. Any similarity between the fictional version of the persons portrayed herein and the actual persons is somewhat intentional, but as far as I know, none of this ever happened, except in my mind. Dammit. (Unless it did, and then it's strictly a coincidence.) TL;DR? Fiction, don't sue.
Notes: I'm actually breaking this up into two parts, cuz it makes more sense to me that way. Plus, more fic for you, and I get a little break to get ready, just like David. :)

Fic: "Always Believe"

Title: Always Believe
Series: Anodyne
Rating: PG-13
Pairing: Dandy
Summary: Don't ever sell yourself short.
Word Count: 361
Disclaimer: Real people exist with these names; but these folks here are fictionalized characters, and not directly intended to represent the actual persons mentioned. Dammit. (Unless it did, and then it's strictly a coincidence.) TL;DR? Fiction, don't sue.
Notes: So! This has been sitting on my hard drive since September, when I decided that it wouldn't fit into the chapter of Anodyne that I was working on at the time ("Busted," for the record -- so linearly, it falls between parts 2 and 3). Since I tend to write in scenes, I figured I'd go ahead and throw it out there for all you peeps waiting on Anodyne updates...Kind of like throwing a bone to a starving dog, I know, but it's all I got at this time. *blush*

Those of you interested can find the completed chapters of Anodyne here: Prologue: Dissolution | Prequel: Thought You Knew | Part 1: At First Glance | Part 2: Hold Your Ground | Interlude: Always Believe | Part 3: Busted | Interlude: Holding Court

Cheerleading, hand-holding, and all-around general awesomeness c/o [info]celticfish -- as always, as ever. ♥ Thank you, bb, for your flailing enthusiasm when I mentioned finishing this storyline. :)

Dammit. (Unless it did, and then it's strictly a coincidence.) TL;DR? Fiction, don't sue.
Notes: Dandy through Jeff's eyes. As noted above, this falls into the Anodyne universe, but it runs parallel to the current storyline rather than linearly.

Also? For [info]celticfish's birthday fic celebration! :D HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the Sister of My Heart!! *throws confetti and streamers* Sorry it's so short, but the Muse is being a bitch-h0r again...at least it's something from Anodyne...?

Ooo, also, if you are home like me and bored, I challenge you to write a story about who DFCook is kissing at midnight :)

Courts, this is all your fault. :P

Fic: "Busted"

Title: Busted
Series: Anodyne
Rating: R
Pairing: Dandy; Dandymann friendship; implied David/Jeff
Summary: Keeping in contact with them was no hardship at all. Really.
Word Count: 7275
Disclaimer: Real people exist with these names; but these folks here are fictionalized characters, and not directly intended to represent the actual persons mentioned. Any similarity between the fictional version of the persons portrayed herein and the actual persons is somewhat intentional, but as far as I know, none of this ever happened, except in my mind. Dammit. (Unless it did, and then it's strictly a coincidence.) TL;DR? Fiction, don't sue.
Notes: I have been struggling mightily with my Muse over Part 3 of this series -- I had a prompt that I was trying to write to, and all She wanted to do was sit in the corner and sulk until I wrote the scene that She wanted me to write.

Once I started writing it for Her, it kind of took on a life of its own. *facepalm* It's still very much related to this series, although it doesn't fit the prompt I was trying to write... And because I haven't updated this fic in, like, forever, you guys are getting a bonus chapter out of it. :D And it's long. Very long. Oops. :D

Special thanks to [info]annie2791, for trying to kick the Muse's ass; and my beta-fish, [info]celticfish, who only saw parts of this, for lying and telling me those parts didn't suck. LOL

Sooooooo...Part three of what has now grown to be an expected eight-part IDEK-anymore-how-many-parts serial fic.

Fic: "Hold Your Ground"

Title: Hold Your Ground
Series: Anodyne
Rating: PG-13 (hello, adult language!)
Pairing: Dandy; Dandymann friendship; implied David/Jeff
Summary: All you can think is that Jeff needs to hear this kid sing...
Word Count: 3004
Disclaimer: Real people exist with these names; but these folks here are fictionalized characters, and not directly intended to represent the actual persons mentioned. Any similarity between the fictional version of the persons portrayed herein and the actual persons is somewhat intentional, but as far as I know, none of this ever happened, except in my mind. Dammit. (Unless it did, and then it's strictly a coincidence.) TL;DR? Fiction, don't sue.
Notes: Written for prompt #13 on my Prompt Table of Doom; [Hold].

Part two of an expected six(hi, now it's) seven TRY TWELVE- No-fucking-clue-how-many part serial fic. I'm only posting this part this soon because it's done, so don't go getting all spoiled or anything, because part 3 hasn't really even been started yet, sorries. :P

And as before, it's all [info]courts576's fault. *points*

Big ol' hugs and smooches to [info]celticfish for being my ß-fish and cheerleading on this.

Fic: "At First Glance"

Title: At First Glance
Series: Anodyne
Rating: PG-13 (hello, adult language!)
Pairing: Dandy; implied David/Jeff Shrout
Summary: Somehow, that "worst-ever, sounds-like-a-pick-up-line" conversation starter nets you a friend, the kind you never knew you needed...until now.
Word Count: 1245
Disclaimer: Real people exist with these names; but these folks here are fictionalized characters, and not intended to represent the actual persons mentioned. Dammit. (Unless it did, and then it's strictly a coincidence.) TL;DR? Fiction, don't sue.
Notes: Written for prompt #30 on my Prompt Table of Doom; [Enchant].

Part one of an expected six (now) seven TRY TWELVE part no-fucking-clue-anymore serial fic. Written from a college-aged David Cook's perspective.

Furthermore, I blame [info]courts576 for this, because she's the one with the 30-prompt table that she's working on, and that of course got me contemplating my own...but I had to be difficult, and create my own randomized table... and immediately several "story arcs" popped right out at me, and...well...shit.

...Yeah.

Big ol' hugs and smooches to [info]celticfish for ß-correction and cheerleading on this.

Those of you interested can find the completed chapters of Anodyne here:
Prologue: Dissolution | Prequel: Thought You Knew | Part 1: At First Glance | Part 2: Hold Your Ground | Interlude: Always Believe | Part 3: Busted | Interlude: Holding Court

I won't mention my intentions to let you lead me on... )

My own personal Dandy prompt table -- this may be the worst idea I've had yet

Okay, here's the thing. Over on my Dandy slasher community on LiveJournal, I've gotten together with a writer named courts to try and get a 30-Prompt fic-prompt table together for the community, because she's working on a 30-prompt table of her own with the Cookleta pairing, and I thought since you can never have too much Dandy fic, well.. we should have one of our own!

I digress.

Anyway, courts is currently AFK for about a month, and I was getting bored and really haven't been feeling the next installment of the "Hard Lessons" universe fic that I started last week but have stalled out on.. so I thought, "Hey, I'll just go over to 100_prompts and case what their prompt tables look like..."

Well, turns out that they have 30, 50 and 100 prompt tables, and there's three of each quantity. (I found court's table, BTW :) But reading through them, there's no one table that I'd want to do in its entirety, because the prompts just don't grab me.

So, I made up my own. *faceplants on desk*

I went to this Random Number Generator, and created a chart of 30 random numbers from 1-95 (since prompts 96-100 are "writer's choice" on the 100-count tables). I took the first random number, and took that number's prompt from the first 100-count table; the second random number's prompt from the second table, the third from the third, and the fourth number from the first table again, and just kept circulating through until i had a random 30-prompt table of my own to work with.

(in the event that I had a repeated number, like #36 came up from the second table twice, I went ahead and took #37 instead - tried to keep it as random as possible.)

The table I ended up with is constructed out of pure angst.

And the sad part is? Just looking at it, I can already see a couple of potential story arcs.

For instance? The fic bunny that bit me at work today (*glances @ clock* er, yesterday).

I can't escape the angst.

I've already started outlining the fics for the bunny's arc.

Now, I've never done a prompt table in earnest before, so can anyone tell me: If I write a variety of ficlets that are pieces of another complete fic as a whole -- does each ficlet count on the prompt table? Or is it just the entire fic as a whole? The ficlets would probably be fleshed out into short "chapterlets" on their own, but they would all rely on the rest to tell the complete story, and I'd probably want to put them all into the same post...

Comments? Questions? Opinions?

For your edification, here's the Angsty 30-Prompt Table of DOOOOOOM.

A truly randomly random random table )

Fic: "Scenes"

Title: Scenes
Series: Hard Lessons
Rating: R
Pairing: Dandy; Cookmann
Summary: Scenes from a friendship
Word Count: 3135
Warnings: Adult situations - one scene is more D/s gone horribly wrong, but nothing too drastic or graphic... give it a chance? :-\
Notes: IDEK anymore, I swear... I guess you could call it backstory for "Broken Trust" and a follow-up to "Safe"...

Starts in the near-present, regresses into the past, and ends in the immediate present -- sorry if it's confusing, but that's the way it came to me. *shrug*
III. Spring is set in 2008
II. Summer is set in 2007
I. Winter is set in 2006
...And the fall (Summer, again) is once again 2008.

Also? I have no idea how this damn thing got so long -- Winter just got away from me completely... *facepalm*

And it's all right if you stay with me tonight, until the rain passes by... )

Fic: "Safe"

Title: Safe
Series: Hard Lessons
Rating: PG-13 for swearing
Pairing: Dandy!!
Summary: A bit more of the aftermath of "Broken Trust"
Word Count: 1722
Warnings: not much, really -- language?
Disclaimer: Real people exist with these names; but these folks here are fictionalized characters, and not directly intended to represent the actual persons mentioned. Any similarity between the fictional version of the persons portrayed herein and the actual persons is somewhat intentional, but as far as I know, none of this ever happened, except in my mind. Dammit. (Unless it did, and then it's strictly a coincidence.) TL;DR? Fiction, don't sue.
Notes: *points @ summary*

No, really -- for some reason, I thought it would be a good idea to continue what happens in Andy's apartment after David shows up. For that matter, I started having additional thoughts about formulating the backstory of David and Andy's relationship, which can of course only end in tears... anyway -- *points @ summary*

Written very haphazardly and probably not very good, so you've been warned and all.

whether you're wrong, whether you're right, I know it's hard... )

Fic: "Broken Trust"

Title: Broken Trust
Series: Hard Lessons
Author: [info]machka
Dramatis personae: Cohnstro, stealth!Mistro, with bonus Dandy friendship!
Rating: R (adult situations)
Warning: Angsty McAngst fic. Lots of cursing. BDSM gone bad.
Disclaimer: Real people exist with these names; but these here are fictionalized characters, and not the actual persons mentioned. Any similarity between the fictional version of the persons portrayed herein and the actual persons is intentional, but as far as I know, none of this ever happened, except in my mind.
Summary: Three words remembered would've made this work...but another was spoken because he forgot.
Word Count: 3532
Prompts: These things right here.
Author's Notes: OMG. So somehow that fluffy prompt turned in the angst fic from Hell. WTF, Muse?? I wanted pr0n, She gave me the mirror opposite of the fic I wrote last time, and no matter how hard I tried to reason with Her, She would not be budged. *shrug*

So anyway, this is not the same universe as the previous fic -- here, Michael and David "switch" as to who's the Dominant and who's the submissive -- that's kind of where things start to go wrong. :-/

Needless to say, this almost didn't get written, but [info]annie2791 nagged me to do it anyway. Blame her. :P

For the Cohnstro LiveJournal community's fic contest, prompt 2.

Crossposted to the idolslash community on LiveJournal.

Three little words would be fine )
